A football CV that tells the right story

A football CV is an introduction, not an autobiography. Its job is to help a club or agent understand where you play, what experience you bring and why a conversation may be worthwhile.

Lead with the essentials.

Start with your name, primary position, broad location and a reliable contact route. Add relevant playing details such as preferred foot and current availability. Use a clear, recent profile image only if you are comfortable sharing it. Avoid listing a home address, national ID number, passport details or sensitive health information.

Make experience specific.

List your recent clubs or teams in reverse chronological order. Include the season, level and your role. Use accurate, relevant information rather than claims you cannot support. If you include appearances, minutes or goals, make the period and competition clear. Coaching responsibilities and leadership experience may also be useful when they relate to the opportunity.

Curate your highlights.

If you share video, choose a short, well-organized reel and label the matches or sessions where possible. Show decisions and actions relevant to your position, not just a collection of your best-looking moments. Make sure you have permission to share the footage. Keep a longer sample available if a verified organization requests one.

Make it easy to read.

Use a simple layout, consistent dates and a readable font. Export a PDF and check it on a phone as well as a larger screen. File names such as Name_Position_Season.pdf are clearer than a random download name. Ask someone you trust to check spelling, dates and link access.

Share deliberately.

Keep a current version in your dashboard and review it before each application. A CV shared through the platform uses an external CDN link; anyone who obtains that link may open it. Include only information you are comfortable sharing for a football introduction. No CV format can guarantee selection, but a clear and accurate one makes the conversation easier.
